This project focused on the development of a custom WordPress plugin suite and a comprehensive UI/UX enhancement to optimize the customer journey for an automotive e-commerce platform. The solution addressed a critical need for accurate vehicle-based product discovery and seamless data persistence throughout the purchasing workflow.

The engagement produced two tightly integrated plugins:

Racing Chip Search – a dynamic Year-Make-Model-Engine (YMME) search system featuring AJAX-driven selectors, reusable shortcodes, widgets, and robust fitment data management tools.
Racingchip WooCommerce Connector – an integration layer ensuring selected vehicle data persists across cart, checkout, and order processes, enhancing transparency for both customers and administrators.

In parallel, the site’s user interface was modernized with improved accessibility, responsiveness, and performance-focused design patterns.

Objectives
